The Tucson Parks Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization working with public and private partners to supplement and support the City of Tucson Parks & Recreation’s programs, services, and capital projects; particularly those that help children, at-risk youth, seniors and the disabled.
Supporting and enhancing the work of the award-winning Tucson Parks and Recreation Department has been the goal of the Tucson Parks Foundation since its inception in 1983. We are a non-profit, 501c (3) corporation with an all-volunteer board of directors.
With more than 134 parks, 19 recreation centers, six off-leash dog areas, three skate parks, nine pools, a diversity of sports fields and dozens of special places for weddings and events in the City, there’s plenty of opportunity for everyone to exercise and improve your quality of life in the Tucson park experience.
Over the past 30 years, the Tucson Parks Foundation has donated more than $3 Million to improve Tucson’s parks and recreation facilities and expand opportunities for all citizens to enjoy these public treasures. Our current project is funding the installation of shade structures to protect the health of our children and other park users from the damaging influences of the sun. Please help us by making a donation today!
Previous projects included purchasing playground equipment for special-needs children, scholarships for kids swimming lessons, benches, picnic tables and equipment at neighborhood parks, wheelchair accessibility improvements, and more.
The Tucson Parks Foundation also has the ability to accept contributions for specific projects, in coordination with the Tucson Parks and Recreation Department. If your neighborhood wants to host fundraisers for specific projects that are currently underfunded, you can work with Parks and Recreation to make a donation to the Foundation to supplement the public funds in the project.
